Launched in January 2012, ARCHIVE is a online exhibition of faculty and student projects and stories intended for the public to better understand the experience of architecture school. It is funded and supported by the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture as part of their 100-year anniversary celebration.
ARCHIVE began in early 2010 with the ACSA100 committee conducting a national search and selecting Maia Small as curator. Soon after, she led an ACSA-hosted charette in Washington DC with academics, professionals, and other stakeholders to help establish project goals.
Since November 2010, ARCHIVE has collected thousands of projects in its DROPBOX, an online community for architecture students and faculty, and sponsored five competitions to encourage wide-ranging and diverse participation. The team launched the initial exhibition interface in January 2012 to its internal community to elicit feedback. The exhibit opened to the public on March 1, 2012, as part of the ACSA's 100th Annual Meeting at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
The voice you read in the exhibit is the curator's, with input from the team. We welcome your feedback through our page on the site or info@archive100.org.
